With construction drawing to a close and only three properties left to sell, Anwyl Homes invited children from Abermorddu Primary School to leave a lasting legacy at its Parc Celyn development with the burial of a time capsule.
Containing a selection of stories and pictures from the pupils about school and home life in their village, the stainless steel time capsule was carefully buried on the development where it will lay waiting to be discovered in many years to come.
With the assistance and guidance of their teachers, more than 130 children from the school took part in the project highlighting what they like about living in Abermorddu, their favourite school subject and what hobbies, sports and interests they enjoy with their families and friends at the weekend.
Eight pupils were then invited onto the site to help Anwyl’s Site Manager Pat Kelly and SHEQ Advisor Steve Daniels bury the capsule.
Headteacher Mr Roberts commented: “Having avidly watched progress at the Anwyl development the children jumped at the chance to take part in this project and see their stories and pictures go into the capsule and into the ground next door. It’s lovely for them to have the opportunity to leave this legacy and say that they took part in an activity that may be discovered by future pupils in years to come.”
