Anwyl Homes site manager, Pat Kelly from Rhyl, has won the prestigious title of Best Site Manager 2017 in the All Wales National LABC Excellence Awards.

It is the second year running that one of the Anwyl Homes’ team has beaten stiff competition from across Wales to scoop the award; last year it was won by Pat’s colleague George Povey.

Designed to reward and recognise the outstanding contributions of site managers working on Local Area Building Control (LABC) developments across the UK, the awards are presented annually to exceptional individuals that stand above the rest and go the extra mile to deliver quality and excellence in all areas of build on site.

Evaluation is rigorous, with judges looking for a high level of compliance with building regulations, effective working relationships with LABC surveyors, outstanding craftsmanship, technical innovation, commitment to sustainability and a strong ability to solve problems and overcome difficult situations on site.

Pat receives the award in recognition for the projects he has delivered over recent years, working closely with building inspectors in the Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham areas to manage and coordinate schemes from inception to completion.  Judges were particularly impressed with Pat’s ability to liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors and also the building control inspectors to deliver a high quality build programme, on time and to budget, often in difficult ground conditions.

Managing director at Anwyl Homes’, Mathew Anwyl, commented: “We’re delighted that another Anwyl site manager has taken the title of Best Site Agent in Wales and are so pleased for Pat who works tirelessly to ensure great standards on all of his sites. His hard work, dedication and commitment are evident in his everyday work and he is well known for great communication with the building control inspectors, keeping them fully informed on technical issues and seeking advice as and when necessary. Well done Pat!”

Pat added: “This is the first time that I have been nominated for this award, and to win it is a lifetime achievement. I feel extremely proud and am grateful to all those who have been involved in all of the different projects over the years.”

Hundreds of site managers from across Wales are eligible to take part in the awards and Pat will go forward into the grand finals which are held in London.
