A rugby club have called in the experts to help them keep the floodlights on this winter.
The Energy Company are helping Clwb Rygbi Dinbych tackle their lighting and heating costs by getting them the best deal on their energy supplies and are chipping in with a valuable sponsorship deal to help them stock up with tackle pads and balls.
The Ruthin-based company, which this year is celebrating 20 years in business, have arranged the club’s electricity supplies with SSE Swalec which has its own close links with rugby in Wales – as Swalec they used to sponsor the Welsh Cup.
Colin Pritchard, Director of The Energy Company, said: “Whenever we can, we are keen to support local organisations and put something back into the local community.
“We also support St Kentigern’s Hospice and Ruthin Town Football Club and we wanted to help the rugby club in Denbigh because they do a great job and have a fantastic youth and junior set-up.
“They have youngsters playing the game from seven to seventeen, their Youth side is in the last eight of the Welsh Youth Cup which is a fantastic achievement and they even run a Vets team now as well.
“When the Club’s energy contract next comes up for renewal, we will again be happy to ensure that they are on the best possible rates and to check that the tariff they are on is the right one for the usage of their floodlights.”
John Davies, Dinbych’s Membership and Sponsorship Secretary, said: “We have a great set-up here now with the floodlights but we have to be energy conscious and that’s why we went to The Energy Company to get the best deal for our energy.
“We are also very conscious of energy use and we have become one of the first rugby clubs in the country to install solar panels on the roof with the help of another local firm, Hafod Renewables.
“We’re nowhere near self-sufficient though and so we’re glad to be in the hands of The Energy Company and grateful for their generous sponsorship as well.”
Colin Pritchard said: “It is surprising how many people are on the wrong tariffs and the energy companies seem to feel no obligation to find the best tariff for them – and that’s where we come in. Not only do we identify the best rates at the time, we also ensure that customers are on the correct tariff for their business.
“In addition, we continue to offer support and advice for any issues that may arise. We take care of terminations, ensuring that contracts do not roll on to out of contract rates, all this at no cost to the customer.
“We’re delighted to help all our customers and we estimated that in the last 10 years alone we have saved them well in excess of £5 million, money which I am sure they can better spend elsewhere, whether it’s for their business or for rugby shirts and balls.”
