The town of Wrexham will be transformed into the fashion capital of the UK – just for one day.

Celebrity stylist Suzy Makin, who’s worked with chart-topping bands Liberty X, Blue and Atomic Kitten, will be masterminding a fashion spectacular at the Eagles Meadow shopping centre on Saturday, April 25.

Suzy, who put together top looks for style bible Cosmopolitan, will showcase the latest outfits on offer for the summer season at the Fashion Frenzy event.

Joining Suzy will be models who have worked with singers Tinie Tempah, Ronan Keating, Amelia Lilly and Beverley Knight who will be showing off the trends available at the shopping centre’s stores.

The Fashion frenzy at Eagles Meadow will also be offering free makeovers at Boots and running special events with prizes to be won every hour from 11am to 4pm.

Among the stores taking part will be M&S, Ragazzi, Wallis, Topshop and Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Burton, River Island, H&M, F. Hinds and Mococo.

Suzy said: “We’re moving back towards the looks of the 70s so flared trousers are trying to come back, along with hippy motifs.

“Modern bohemian is a key style and look out for ginghams. Denim is very strong and skirt layering is popular as well as khaki and lace which is always feminine but with a new twist.

“Navy is the new black, suede is in where leather is out and the best news of all is in shoes as finally flats are really hot so we can be more comfortable at last.”

Eagles Meadow manager, Kevin Critchley, said: “The event will put Eagles Meadow on the fashion map.

“One of the strengths of the centre is that it is not just about retail because there is also a very strong leisure element.

“You can start with breakfast in Starbuck’s, do all your shopping in all the retail outlets, have a family  meal in one of our great restaurants and then enjoy some tenpin bowling before going to the cinema to watch a film.”
